On 2 August 2026 a gunman opened fire on Spasovdanska street in East Sarajevo, seriously wounding Kosta Pandurević while his two‑year‑old child was in the car. The next day a second attack injured Davor Dabić. Đorđe Ždrale is the main suspect; he fled the scene and remains at large.

Police of the Republika Srpska (MUP RS) launched a special operational team, increased patrols in the area and, on 3 August, located a vehicle in Vogošća linked to the suspect. The car was sealed and deposited at a police facility.

East Sarajevo mayor Ljubiša Ćosić publicly urged members of criminal groups to stop their feuds, warned that the judiciary is lagging, and announced a meeting with the interior minister and police leadership to boost security. Other officials, including Božović and Minister Željko Budimir, echoed the call for stronger action against organized crime.
