Mayor Lupita Cuautle boosts food aid and opens free‑speech forum in San Andrés Cholula

The municipal government of San Andrés Cholula, led by Mayor Lupita Cuautle, delivered its first food‑assistance package of the year, distributing more than 5,396 parcels to roughly 1,400 families. The aid, provided in partnership with the State DIF, targeted seniors, people with disabilities, cancer patients, pregnant and lactating women, and children in their first years of life through the 1000‑days, First Childhood and Vulnerability assistance programs.

In a separate initiative, Mayor Cuautle inaugurated the “Voces Libres” dialogue, bringing together journalists such as Adela Micha, Jorge Zarzay and Panela Cerdeira. The forum highlighted the increasingly hostile environment for press freedom in Mexico, citing threats, violence and new forms of legal and digital censorship, and urged greater courage and ethical rigor among reporters.
