Chihuahua Mayor Marco Bonilla Calls for Community Partnerships, Road Project, and Fraud Vigilance
Mayor Marco Bonilla of Chihuahua met with more than 65 civil associations, recognizing their work in family development, education, health and community projects and urging continued collaboration to improve residents' quality of life.
He presented the Poniente 5 roadway plan, a 21‑kilometre corridor linking Avenida Cantera with the highway to Cuauhtémoc. The first stage covers 3.27 km, costing 386 million pesos, with the municipal government seeking a 150 million‑peso loan to fund construction and reduce peak‑hour traffic by over 4,000 vehicles.
Bonilla also warned citizens about possible real‑estate fraud, advising them to verify property records, consult notaries and use the municipality’s free legal assistance before any purchase, noting that no cartel‑type scheme has been detected in Chihuahua city so far.
