Mayor Martínez mayor's vehicle seized due to reported theft in Brazil

Authorities in Pilar, Paraguay, have seized a white Toyota Fortuner SRV linked to Roberto Ariel Arce Rotela, the mayor of Mayor Martínez, Ñeembucú. The vehicle was located at a residence in the Obrero neighborhood following a complaint filed by lawyers representing the Brazilian company Costa Oeste Reintegração Patrimonial Ltda.

Fiscal David Cabral intervened after the mayor reportedly refused to surrender the vehicle for verification. Police confirmed that the license plate matched the documentation provided by the complainants, indicating the vehicle had a reported theft status in Brazil. The SUV has been transferred to the Public Ministry's warehouse.

This incident follows previous reports linking Arce Rotela to investigations involving narcotics. Earlier this year, Argentine media outlets suggested the mayor may have provided refuge to Federico Morenita Marín, a drug trafficker from Corrientes, Argentina, who was subsequently killed.
