Mayor Mehmet Yarka Announces New Şırnak Municipal Football Team Project

Şırnak Mayor Mehmet Yarka revealed a municipal initiative to create a Şırnak Football Team under the city’s administration. In a meeting with coaches from the Şırnak Football Academy, the mayor outlined a roadmap that includes strengthening the local football infrastructure and providing pathways for young talent.

The team will initially compete in amateur leagues, with the long‑term aim of building a sustainable club that can eventually represent Şırnak in professional competitions. Yarka emphasized that the project is intended to serve as a sports academy, nurturing future professional players and boosting community engagement in football.
