Mayor Melek Mızrak Subaşı ranks among Turkey's top municipal leaders

Melek Mızrak Subaşı, the first female mayor of Bilecik, placed fourth in a nationwide performance survey of municipal leaders, achieving a 51.5% success rating. The assessment considered physical infrastructure, cultural activities, social services and environmental initiatives, highlighting her projects for children, women’s cooperatives, green spaces and a lavender planting scheme.

During a municipal council session, Subaşı addressed rumors that she resides in Eskişehir. She confirmed her primary residence is in Bilecik, explaining that her spouse works in Eskişehir and that her child attends school there. She emphasized that her duties as mayor and as a mother are both priorities, and she will continue to serve the city while maintaining her family responsibilities.
