Sophia Farias located in Portugal after disappearing from Brazil

Sophia Farias, the 14-year-old daughter of the mayor of Coronel Ezequiel, Thales Farias, has been located in Lisbon, Portugal, after disappearing from a hotel in Natal, Brazil.

The teenager reportedly traveled alone to Europe after establishing contact with a 21-year-old Portuguese man through TikTok and Instagram. Her passport contained an authorization allowing her to travel unaccompanied, which enabled her to pass through border controls. Her father initially reported the incident as a kidnapping, alleging she was lured by a fake social media profile.

Following a report filed by her aunt with the Portuguese Public Security Police (PSP), authorities located the teenager. She was taken to a police station in Seixal and subsequently handed over to her uncle. The family is currently organizing her repatriation to Brazil, and the case remains under investigation by authorities.
