Mayor of São Domingos do Capim injured in vehicle collision

Orivaldo das Neves Oliveira, the mayor of São Domingos do Capim in northeast Pará, was involved in a vehicle collision on Thursday night. The accident occurred near kilometer 21 of the BR-316 highway, between Castanhal and São Domingos do Capim, in an area near a mountain range.

Initial reports suggest the mayor's pickup truck struck another vehicle that was stopped on the road. The collision caused significant damage to the front of the mayor's vehicle. Following the crash, Oliveira was transported to the Urgent Care Unit (UPA) in Castanhal.

While early reports indicated the severity of his clinical condition, the City Hall of São Domingos do Capim has not released a detailed medical bulletin. The administration confirmed he received medical attention and requested privacy for the mayor and his family while he remains under care.
