Mayor Rossana Chahla calls for democratic renewal on Argentina's Independence Day

Mayor Rossana Chahla of San Miguel de Tucumán took part in the official ceremonies commemorating the 210th anniversary of Argentina’s Declaration of Independence. In her remarks she urged citizens to strengthen participation and inclusion as pillars of democracy, stressing that "democracy must be defended day by day." Chahla highlighted the need to recover the perseverance and passion of the 1816 congressmen, and called for more community spaces to build consensus.

She also referenced President Javier Milei’s recent fiscal pact, saying the agreement had not reached ordinary families. While praising the cooperation among provincial leaders, she emphasized respect for institutional legitimacy and the importance of defending democratic rights for all citizens.
