Mayor Rossana Chahla urges public‑private funding for over 20 key infrastructure projects in San Miguel de Tucumán

Mayor Rossana Chahla of San Miguel de Tucumán said the city needs more than 20 priority infrastructure and urban‑development works and that their completion must rely on public‑private partnership schemes. She stressed long‑term planning, urging a 20‑ to 30‑year strategy to create green, sustainable, orderly urban growth.

Chahla highlighted the impact of national spending cuts and the suspension of international credit on local projects, noting that the municipality is exploring alternative financing such as sub‑sovereign bonds and trust structures. She called for a reduction of bureaucratic hurdles, a restructuring of the public sector, and faster responses to attract private investment and generate employment.
