SSC Bari secures San Nicola stadium deal and appoints Pierpaolo Marino as director general
After weeks of stalled negotiations, the Municipality of Bari and club owner Luigi De Laurentiis reached an agreement on the concession of the San Nicola stadium, clearing the way for SSC Bari to register for the upcoming Serie C season.
Mayor Vito Leccese confirmed that the club accepted three conditions: a credible industrial plan, concrete guarantees for ending the De Laurentiis multi‑ownership by June 2028, and the creation of a municipal oversight committee to monitor compliance.
Pierpaolo Marino, a former Napoli and Udinese player, was appointed director general. His mandate is to develop a technical project aimed at returning Bari to Serie A and to oversee a transition toward a club sale, with a data room opened for potential investors.
The five‑year stadium concession also establishes a Guarantee and Transparency Committee, and the club has expressed intent to attract new shareholders before the 2028 deadline.
