Mayor Walser proposes binational tourism circuits for Argentina and Uruguay
José Luis Walser, the mayor of Colón, presented a strategic proposal for the creation of eight binational tourism circuits between Argentina and Uruguay. The proposal was formally delivered to Uruguayan Minister of Tourism, Pablo Menoni, during the International Forum of Tourism and Local Governments held in Treinta y Tres, Uruguay.
The initiative aims to integrate attractions and services located on both sides of the Uruguay River to strengthen the shared coastline's tourism offerings. Walser also detailed the development plan for the Tierra de Palmares micro-region and discussed the ‘Modelo Colón’ management strategy, which seeks to establish the area as an international tourist destination through a 10-year strategic plan.
