Mayor Walter Vuoto greets Folklore en Zapatillas for national Malambo contest

Mayor Walter Vuoto of Ushuaia received the municipal workshop "Folklore en Zapatillas" in the city hall’s Situation Room. The delegation, led by teachers Melisa Renko and Jonathan Ramos, includes dancers who placed first in several categories at the provincial Malambo competition in Tolhuin.

The team will represent Tierra del Fuego at the National Female Malambo Championship in Tanti, Córdoba, scheduled for 7‑12 October. Councilor Analía Escalante attended the meeting. Vuoto praised the participants’ dedication and highlighted the workshop’s decade‑long role in training dancers. Renko said the group is “very happy to be received” and to have the chance to represent the province at a national folklore event.
