Mayors demand Judith Piquet's resignation while judge blocks prosecutor in PSOE scandal
Five PSOE‑led mayors in the Madrid region signed a letter calling for Judith Piquet to step down as president of the Federation of Municipalities of Madrid (FMM). They cite her alleged role in a judicial case in which she is accused of leaking a police report to link crime with immigration, and accuse her of partisan conduct and questionable contracts.
In a related development, Judge Santiago Pedraz of the Audiencia Nacional rejected prosecutor Ignacio Stampa's request to be recognized as a victim in the ongoing "cloacas del PSOE" investigation. Pedraz said the alleged bribery attempt involving Leire Díez and businessman Javier Pérez Dolset remains under investigation in a separate case, and therefore Stampa cannot be admitted as a harmed party.
