Mayors in Brazil Accelerate Road Works on Estrada Selene and BR‑163
In Mato Grosso, mayor Roberto Dorner met with the contractor responsible for the Estrada Selene project, urging acceleration after delays. The company pledged to increase the workforce and equipment to speed up paving of a 6.8‑km stretch, part of a R$10.4 million investment, with R$4.2 million coming from a state agreement.
In Paraná, mayor Adriano Backes and other municipal officials met with concessionaire Via Campos in Curitiba to discuss improvements on the BR‑163 corridor near Marechal Cândido Rondon. Requests included better access to the São Francisco neighbourhood, lighting for a city cycle path, cleaning of the marginal road, and a pedestrian overpass between two factories. Via Campos said it would act on the proposals promptly.
