Mayors of Terres de l'Ebre Prepare to Seek Re‑election in 2027 Municipal Vote

Mayors of the main municipalities in Catalonia’s Terres de l'Ebre region are positioning themselves to run again in the municipal elections slated for May 2027. Adam Tomàs, mayor of Amposta since 2015, is backed by Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) and intends to retain his absolute‑majority administration. Javier Reverté of La Ràpita also plans to stand again, though he has not confirmed his alliance with the PSC.

In Deltebre, incumbent Lluís Soler has yet to announce his candidacy, while Marc Chavalera, who became mayor of Alcanar in January after Joan Roig’s resignation, is expected to be the ERC candidate. Jordi Gasen, who took over Ametlla de Mar in April 2026 following a successful motion of censure, is likewise poised to run under the party banner. ERC has already ratified Ivan Garcia as its candidate for Roquetes, aiming to maintain the party’s hold on local councils that secured absolute majorities in the 2023 elections.
