Mayotte hosts second employment and attractiveness fair
The second edition of the Employment, Trades, and Attractiveness Fair is being held in Mayotte, focusing on the island's reconstruction efforts following Cyclone Chido. The event features 40 exhibitors, including employers, training institutions, and public organizations.
According to France Travail's 2026 labor needs survey, Mayotte anticipates 8,120 recruitments this year. Recruitment challenges are significant, with 56.8% of positions deemed difficult to fill, compared to a national average of 43.8%. High demand is noted in construction and public works—with nearly 1,800 roles for masons, electricians, and site managers—as well as in security, home care, transport, and health sectors.
The free fair is designed for job seekers, students, and professionals seeking career changes. It includes workshops for CV preparation, pitch training, and job dating sessions to connect participants with various sectors ranging from industry and commerce to public services.
