Mayreau eco-resort project planned for US$100 million

Invest SVG and Luxembourg-based developer Nativo Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance the SOMA Mayreau project, a proposed US$100 million eco-resort on the island of Mayreau. The development is intended to expand the tourism sector through sustainable practices and environmental conservation.

The resort is planned to feature over 100 hotel keys, including guestrooms and villas, alongside wellness facilities, restaurants, and marine experiences. The project will be 100% privately financed through foreign capital and commercial bank financing, requiring no government funding. Construction is expected to take approximately 24 months.

In addition to the hospitality component, the initiative includes community and environmental goals, such as water and energy resilience infrastructure, waste management strategies, and the restoration of the Mayreau Parish Church complex. Minister of Foreign Investment Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble stated that the project must preserve the island’s identity while providing benefits to residents, including local employment, skills training, and procurement opportunities.
