Mayton Perea secures UFC contract with knockout victory

Ecuadorian fighter Mayton Perea secured an official contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) following a dominant performance at Dana White’s Contender Series in Las Vegas. Perea, a 26-year-old welterweight from Ibarra, defeated American fighter Zevan Hunt via knockout just 45 seconds into the first round.

To meet the weight requirements for the welterweight division, Perea underwent an intense physical preparation and even cut his braids to comply with weight limits. With this victory, Perea improves his professional record to nine wins. He joins a growing group of Ecuadorian representatives in the UFC, which includes Marlon Vera, Carlos Vera, Michael Morales, and Adrián Luna Martinetti.
