Mayumi Aida to hold first Marionette original art exhibition

Manga artist Mayumi Aida will hold her first full-scale original art exhibition for her representative work, ‘Marionette’, at the Vanilla Gallery in Kyobashi, Tokyo. The exhibition is scheduled to run from October 28 to November 8, 2026.

Originally published in Shueisha’s ‘Hana to Yume’ during the golden age of shojo manga in the 1980s, ‘Marionette’ follows the story of a boy named Daniel born into an earl's family. The exhibition will feature approximately 70 items, including rare manga manuscripts from the original serialization and color illustrations.

In addition to the artwork, the event will offer reproduction prints and original merchandise, such as acrylic stands and illustration card sets. The artist is also scheduled to be present at the gallery on several dates throughout the exhibition period.
