Mazan former deputy mayor sentenced for child pornography
François Torsiello, a 67-year-old former deputy mayor of Mazan in the Vaucluse department, has been sentenced to a two-year suspended prison term by the Carpentras criminal court. The ruling follows the discovery of thousands of child pornography files at his residence during a national investigation.
Torsiello, who was in charge of public works before resigning his position in early July, was identified alongside approximately 90 other individuals during a legal proceeding involving a suspect from Normandy accused of child rape and the online distribution of illegal content.
In addition to the suspended sentence, the court imposed a mandatory medical treatment obligation and a permanent ban on performing any activities involving minors.
