Mazara del Vallo appoints five new officials to strengthen social‑health district

On 1 July 2024 the municipality of Mazara del Vallo in Italy introduced several summer measures. Municipal offices will operate only in the morning until 31 August, with exceptions for essential services, the police, museums, monuments and the cemetery. The Identity‑Card Office will be open Monday‑Friday 8:30‑12:30 and Saturday mornings on four Saturdays in July and the first Saturday in August for paper‑card renewals.

The town also opened applications for a school‑transport service for students with disabilities for the 2026‑27 academic year. Applications must be submitted by 27 July and will be allocated based on severity of disability, ISEE and request date. The service is funded by the Special Fund for Service Equality.

In addition, five new full‑time staff members began work for the Socio‑Sanitary District No. 53, for which Mazara del Vallo is the lead authority. The hires—Alessandro Catalano (administrative officer), Antonino Giacalone (reporting expert), Francesca Chiara Zola (psychologist), Vincenzo Senia and Angela Campisi (professional educators)—are funded by the National Inclusion and Poverty‑Fight Plan 2021‑2027. The district has eight units assigned by the Ministry of Labour, of which five are now operating.
