Mazara del Vallo continues search for Denise Pipitone 22 years later

Twenty-two years after the disappearance of Denise Pipitone, the community of Mazara del Vallo continues to seek justice and answers. Her parents, Piera Maggio and Piero Pulizzi, recently issued a statement expressing their enduring hope and determination to find their daughter, stating they will continue to search until they find her or receive answers.

Mayor Salvatore Quinci expressed his support for the family, describing the 2004 kidnapping as an “open and painful wound” for both the family and the community.

Amidst these commemorations, the family reported a distressing incident caught on surveillance footage. An individual stopped a vehicle in front of the home of Piera Maggio and Piero Pulizzi to steal two plastic recycling bins. The empty containers were later discovered in via Castagnola, the specific location where the traces of Denise Pipitone were last lost. The family expressed deep distress over the symbolic nature of this event occurring near the anniversary of the disappearance and intends to contact authorities regarding the incident.
