Mazatlán announces 2027 International Carnival details

The Mazatlán Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art has announced the details for the 2027 Mazatlán International Carnival, themed ‘Amamos Nuestras Tradiciones’ (We Love Our Traditions). The festivities are scheduled to take place from February 4 to February 9, 2027.

Official calls for participants have been launched to select the carnival's royal court. Candidates for Carnival Queen and Juegos Florales Queen must be women aged 18 to 27 who are natives of Mazatlán or have resided there for at least five years. Applicants are required to present a community service project, and the final gala will evaluate both beauty and judgment. To ensure objectivity, judges will discard the highest and lowest scores for each participant.

Separate selection processes are in place for the King of Joy and the Children's Queen, which will be determined by financial contributions. The registration period for the main pageant closes on October 2, with the first presentation of qualified candidates occurring on October 24.
