Mazatlán authorities and hoteliers launch tourism recovery plan

Authorities and hotel associations in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, have established a Permanent Tourism Strengthening Table to implement a recovery plan for the destination. The initiative involves coordination between municipal, state, and federal levels of government, including the Secretariat of Tourism, Economy, Public Security, the Navy, the National Guard, and the Secretariat of National Defense.

Key security measures include the installation of video surveillance cameras in hotels and restaurants that will be connected to the C4 command center. Additionally, panic buttons will be installed at hotel receptions to improve emergency response times. The Navy has also proposed a QR code system to facilitate anonymous citizen reporting, which would connect directly to a central base in Mexico City.

To support local security, the Mazatlán City Council will donate bicycles to the National Guard to enhance community policing. These actions aim to bolster governance, security, and tourism promotion to consolidate Mazatlán as a major Mexican destination.
