Mazatlán authorities establish school safety protocols

In Mazatlán, educational authorities have outlined specific safety protocols for teachers to follow during emergency situations near schools. José Juan Rendón Gómez, head of SEPyC Regional Services in Mazatlán, stated that in the event of a risk, such as gunfire, teachers must keep students inside classrooms and away from outdoor areas like sports courts.

Students are to remain sheltered until Public Security authorities confirm it is safe to leave. Furthermore, the protocol dictates that students will not be released to parents or guardians until authorities determine that conditions are secure, even if family members arrive at the school during the incident.
