Mazatlán boosts tourism promotion and upgrades public services amid safety concerns

Hotel industry leaders in Mazatlán say they will continue promoting the city despite remarks from officials in other states urging travelers to avoid it. José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, president of the Asociación de Hoteles Tres Islas, highlighted a recent tourism caravan that garnered positive response and stressed coordination with federal, state and municipal authorities to improve road security and overall perception of the destination.

The municipal government also supplied new safety equipment and tools to the Department of Parks and Gardens to enhance maintenance of green areas and public spaces during the rainy season. Director Karla Camacho Guzmán said the gear will allow staff to work more safely and effectively. Mayor Minerva Osuna Zavala pledged ongoing support for such upgrades, while the STASAM union thanked the administration for addressing workers' needs.
