Mazatlán Civil Protection Director shot in vehicle attack

Óscar Roberto Osuna Tirado, the Municipal Civil Protection Director of Mazatlán, was shot while traveling in an official vehicle on Wednesday morning. The attack occurred on Avenida Gutiérrez Nájera in the Montuosa sector.

According to reports, armed individuals on a red motorcycle intercepted the vehicle and fired multiple shots, leaving approximately 12 bullet impacts on the unit. Osuna Tirado sustained a graze wound to the head and was transported to a local hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Following the incident, a joint security operation was deployed in the area involving the Municipal Public Security Secretariat, the Army, and the Navy. Authorities have cordoned off the scene to allow forensic experts to conduct investigations, and no arrests have been reported as of the latest update.
