Mazatlán firefighters complete rapid water and flood rescue training

Firefighters in Mazatlán have completed a specialized training course in Rapid Water and Flood Rescue to improve response capabilities during hydrometeorological events. Led by Commander Saúl Robles Chávez, the training covered techniques ranging from shallow water rescues to extracting individuals from vehicles trapped in rivers or streams using rafts.

The certification involved three levels—observation, operations, and technical—allowing participants to graduate as technical rescuers. The multidisciplinary training included personnel from Civil Protection, the Red Cross, and lifeguards to ensure coordinated action and standardized protocols during emergencies.
