Mazatlán municipal government completes new road while court orders 13.6 million‑peso payment

The Mazatlán city council, led by interim mayor Minerva Osuna Zavala, inaugurated a third paved street in the Rincón de Mazatlán neighborhood. The Arboledas road project, costing 2.41 million pesos, also included upgrades to water and sewer systems and benefited dozens of families. The mayor said, "Aquí ya está la calle, miren qué bonita quedó. Este tipo de obras fortalecen la convivencia entre las familias y mejoran la calidad de vida de las colonias."

Separately, the Superior Chamber of the Sinaloa State Administrative Justice Tribunal ordered the Mazatlán municipality to pay 13.63 million pesos to resolve a 2018 dispute over water supply and illegal tapings at the Teodoro Mariscal stadium. Councilwoman Maribel Chollet Morán warned that interest could raise the total above 20 million pesos and criticized the administration for failing to comply with prior judgments, stating, "Hay muchas actuaciones que no fueron atendidas, que no fueron acatadas en tiempo y forma y que derivaron de esa omisión y de ese desacato a una sentencia."
