Mexico: Regional governments announce educational and technological scholarship programs
Several Mexican states have launched significant educational and technological initiatives. In the State of Mexico, the administration led by Delfina Gómez Álvarez has invested over 2.2 billion pesos in scholarships, benefiting more than 382,000 students to date. Recent distributions included 423 'Becas para el Bienestar por la Permanencia Académica', providing 15,000 pesos each to students across various educational levels.
In Puebla, Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier announced an alliance with the Tech Diplomacy Academy from Purdue University to offer over 100,000 scholarships. These programs focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics, and semiconductors to foster local industrial talent.
Additionally, the Technological Institute of Monclova in Coahuila is launching a specialized diploma program in semiconductors for high school students starting November 15, aiming to prepare the workforce for the growing international tech industry.
