Mazatlán security forces deploy massive military and naval presence

Mexican federal and state authorities have significantly increased security presence in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, following recent violence. The deployment, including the Navy's "Operación Sable," involves nearly 2,000 additional personnel and aims to protect residents and tourists during the peak vacation season.

Operational forces in southern Sinaloa are estimated at 5,000 to 8,000 agents, conducting multi-dimensional patrols across land, sea, and air. These efforts utilize helicopters, drones, watercraft, and motorcycles to monitor urban centers, coastal corridors, and rural areas.

In a specific operation in the rural community of El Roble, authorities arrested 28 individuals, including two women. This tactical deployment resulted in the seizure of 15 long weapons, 94 magazines, nearly 3,000 cartridges, and tactical gear, including ballistic plates. The suspects and seized materials have been handed over to the Federal Public Ministry for investigation.
