Mazda considers return to Turkey via Doğan Trend Otomotiv

Doğan Trend Otomotiv is in discussions to bring Mazda models back to the Turkish market. CEO Uğur Sakarya stated that the company is evaluating the potential introduction of compact models, such as the Mazda3, and certain pick-up options.

Following a service agreement signed with Mazda Motor Europe in February 2026, Doğan Trend Otomotiv has taken over the management of Mazda’s after-sales and service network in Turkey, expanding the service points to 22 locations. This follows Mazda's decision in November 2023 to suspend new vehicle sales in the country for an indefinite period.

In addition to Mazda, the company is planning to introduce Maxus pick-up models, available in both 4x2 and 4x4 double-cabin versions, by the end of the year. There are also strategic plans for the MG brand; by leveraging MG’s factory in Spain, the company aims to import electric models to Turkey with zero customs duties, targeting annual sales volumes of 15,000 to 20,000 units.
