Mazda crash in Chorzeszów, Poland: driver survives after barrier pierces vehicle
On 4 August 2026 at about 15:25, a Mazda driven by a man on road 4911 in the village of Chorzeszów, Gmina Wodzierady, Łask County, Łódź Voivodeship, collided with a metal safety barrier. The barrier penetrated the windshield, passed through the cabin and exited the roof of the car.
The driver remained conscious, suffered bleeding, and was treated by emergency medical teams before being taken to hospital. He survived without life‑threatening injuries. Firefighters described the incident as a "miracle" because of the extent of the vehicle’s destruction. Police investigations revealed the driver had an alcohol level of nearly two per mille. The road was temporarily blocked while authorities examined the crash.
No fatalities were reported, and the driver’s condition was not considered serious.
