Mazda CX-5 earns top ANCAP safety rating; MX-5 wins AUTOCAR Best‑Point award

The latest ANCAP safety tests awarded five‑star ratings to several SUVs, with the Mazda CX‑5 achieving the highest Vulnerable Road User Protection score of 93%, the strongest result under the 2023‑2025 criteria. ANCAP chief executive Carla Hoorweg highlighted the CX‑5’s collision‑avoidance technology and front‑end design as key factors in reducing pedestrian and cyclist injuries.

In Japan, the fourth‑generation Mazda MX‑5 roadster received the AUTOCAR Best‑Point award, marking the only model to earn a perfect five‑star score in the past year’s evaluations. Judges praised its lightweight construction, natural‑aspiration engine, manual transmission, and driver‑focused design for delivering an engaging yet affordable sports‑car experience.
