Mazda CX-5 Secures Top Safety Ratings from ANCAP, Euro NCAP and IIHS

In Australia, the new generation Mazda CX‑5 received a five‑star ANCAP rating for every model grade. Tested under the programme’s 2025 protocol, it posted a 93 % score for Vulnerable Road User Protection – the highest result in that category. ANCAP chief executive Carla Hoorweg said the rating gives families added reassurance, while Mazda Australia managing director Vinesh Bhindi highlighted the model’s strong occupant‑protection scores.

Globally, the CX‑5 also captured the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s 2026 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award and earned high marks from Euro NCAP, including 90 % adult‑occupant protection, 89 % child‑occupant protection and 93 % vulnerable‑road‑user protection. Safety‑assist systems scored 83 %, and features such as autonomous emergency braking, driver‑attention monitoring, lane‑keeping aid and an eCall emergency call system were noted as standard equipment.
