Mazda MX-5 and Fiat Barchetta: A comparison of iconic roadsters

The Mazda MX-5 has established itself as a benchmark in the small roadster and convertible market, following the legacy of the Lotus Elan. Its success, particularly with the second-generation NB model released in 1998, influenced other manufacturers to develop similar lightweight, performance-oriented vehicles.

Fiat responded to the popularity of the Japanese roadster by developing the Barchetta, which debuted at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show.
