Mazda is reportedly planning a major revision of its electric 6e sedan. Sources say the company will drop the current NMC‑based Long‑Range battery and offer only a larger‑capacity lithium‑iron‑phosphate (LFP) pack, which should provide greater range and faster charging while simplifying production and reducing costs. The move mirrors the strategy used for the newly launched Mazda CX‑6e, which is available solely with a 78 kWh LFP battery delivering about 480 km of WLTP range.
