Maze Theory announces Project Hail Mary VR game

Maze Theory has announced 'Project Hail Mary: Journey Among the Stars', a new virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality interactive experience set in the science fiction universe created by Andy Weir. Scheduled for release in late 2026, the game will feature an original story where players take on the role of Ryland Grace.

Players will be tasked with diagnosing technical issues and using science and engineering to maintain the ship's survival and mission integrity. The experience will include the character Rocky, with James Ortiz reprising his role as the voice of the character. The gameplay aims to emphasize themes of trust, communication, and interspecies friendship as players work to deliver essential cargo to the planet Eridani.
