Mazovia becomes Poland's leading tourism region

The Mazovia region has become Poland’s leading tourism destination, with over 7.7 million tourists utilizing overnight accommodations in 2025. This represents a growth of more than 12 percent compared to 2024, surpassing other major regions such as Lesser Poland and Lower Silesia.

Foreign tourism is expanding rapidly, with the number of international visitors increasing by over 17 percent to reach 2.18 million people. While Warsaw remains the primary hub for visitors, regional authorities are working to promote attractions outside the capital, such as medieval castles in Czersk and Liw, knight tournaments, and industrial heritage trails.

Despite the increase in visitor numbers, industry experts note a challenge regarding the duration of stays. The average length of stay remains stagnant at approximately 1.6 nights for all tourists and 1.7 nights for international guests. Regional tourism organizations aim to encourage visitors to extend their trips by exploring the broader Mazovian landscape beyond the capital city.
