Mazovian Football Association launches U9 district tournament

The Mazovian Football Association (MZPN) is hosting the first District Teams Tournament for the U9 category on September 6. More than 400 young players representing 30 districts across the Mazovian Voivodeship will compete in the qualifying rounds.

The eliminations will take place simultaneously in seven locations, including Radom, Białobrzegi, Strzegowo, Goworowo, Staroźreby, Jartypory, and Piaseczno. From these participants, 16 district teams will earn a spot in the grand final scheduled for September 20 at the Hutnik stadium in Warsaw.

The project aims to identify talent not only in major academies but also in smaller local clubs throughout the region. According to MZPN President Sławomir Pietrzyk, the initiative covers nearly the entire province. The tournament is noted as the first in Poland of this scale and format for children born in 2017.
