Mazovian legends featured in new musical tour
The Mazovian Voivodeship Self-government and the Warsaw Chamber Opera are launching a regional tour of the new musical ‘Gdzie jest Róża?’ (Where is Róża?). The production, written by Jerzy Wołosiuk and directed by Jerzy Jan Połoński, is part of the celebrations marking the 500th anniversary of Mazovia's incorporation into the Kingdom of Poland.
The musical blends elements of adventure, crime, fairy tales, and contemporary musical theatre. The plot follows two officials, Witold Właściwy and Konrad Cudny, as they search for a missing legend from Wyszków. Their journey through the Mazovian region involves encounters with various folkloric figures, including Twardowski, Boruta, and the Black Beast, aiming to breathe new life into traditional regional legends.
