Gamescom 2026: MBC Game Studio and Paradox reveal new titles
Several major video game announcements were made during Gamescom 2026. MBC Group unveiled MBC Game Studio (MGS), which will debut with ‘1001 Threads of Mizan’. This action-adventure title is inspired by ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ and features cooperative gameplay for up to three players, including a flying carpet traversal mechanic. The game is slated for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Paradox Interactive and Urban Games announced that ‘Transport Fever 3’ will release on September 29. The title will be available on PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a loyalty discount offered to existing owners of the previous installment.
Additionally, JARCORP Interactive revealed ‘Amphibian’, a story-driven, turn-based Super2D RPG set in a world of anthropomorphic frogs. The game, which avoids traditional mechanics like random encounters and currency, is scheduled for a 2028 release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Paradox Development Studio also introduced ‘Afterworld’, a new grand strategy game set in a post-apocalyptic North America, arriving on PC.
