MBC Game Studio unveils Middle Eastern folklore game at Gamescom

MBC Game Studio, a team within the Saudi-owned MBC Group, has unveiled its new title, ‘1001 Threads of Mizan Provato’, during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event. The game is a cooperative action-adventure title for up to three players that draws inspiration from the tales of ‘One Thousand and One Nights’.

The project represents a significant effort to use video games as a medium for promoting Middle Eastern culture and folklore, similar to how other nations have utilized gaming as a tool for soft power. The studio is part of the larger MBC Group, which is majority-owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).
