MBC Marriage Hell explores isolation of 17-year-old son

The MBC program ‘Oh Eun-young Report: Marriage Hell’ will feature the story of a 17-year-old boy who lives in isolation within his family home. The teenager reportedly only leaves his room in the early hours of the morning, around 3:00 AM, to avoid contact with his family members. He primarily consumes instant foods and weighs less than 50kg.

The boy’s mother revealed that she raised him alone for ten years following a divorce when he was ten months old. After she remarried, the current husband moved into their home, and the couple had three more children. The mother admitted she failed to properly explain the divorce, the remarriage, and the birth of the three younger siblings to her eldest son.

Psychologist Oh Eun-young will analyze the situation, noting that the boy’s isolation is not due to a dislike of his family, offering a surprising perspective on the underlying cause of his behavior.
