MBH Bank reports over 88 billion forint corrected result for H1

MBH Bank reported a corrected comprehensive result of over 88 billion forints for the first half of the year, an increase of 780 million forints compared to the same period last year. The bank achieved a corrected return on equity of 12.2 percent.

Despite these corrected figures, the group's accounting result turned negative, resulting in a consolidated loss after tax of 22.5 billion forints. This downturn was driven by several significant factors: the payment of 80.7 billion forints in bank and extra profit taxes, over 45.7 billion forints in transaction duties, and a 23.8 billion forint loss due to the interest rate cap. Additionally, withdrawals exceeding 150 billion forints placed a heavy burden on financial results.

On the strength side, the bank's equity reached 1,236.8 billion forints, an 8.4 percent annual increase, with a capital adequacy ratio of 20.9 percent. The total balance sheet amounted to 12,926.4 billion forints, up 3.8 percent year-on-year. The gross loan portfolio stood at 6,337 billion forints, increasing by more than 132 billion forints over the past year.
