MBV Bank uses street coffee kiosks to promote savings programs
MBV (Modern Vietnam Bank), formerly known as OceanBank, is utilizing unconventional street-side kiosks to sell coffee and breakfast to engage customers and promote financial services. These kiosks, such as the one located at the corner of Vo Van Tan and Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, serve as touchpoints for the bank to introduce specialized capital mobilization programs and preferential interest rates.
Customers purchasing items at the kiosks are invited to join Zalo groups to receive updates on savings programs. For instance, the bank has offered interest rates of 9% per annum for deposits under 3 billion VND with a minimum 6-month term, and certificate of deposit rates up to 7.5% per annum for terms of 3 to 6 months.
MBV was established following the mandatory transfer of OceanBank to MB Bank, with MB Bank owning 100% of its charter capital. The bank currently operates 111 branches across 16 provinces and cities in Vietnam, employing over 2,000 personnel.
