MC Cartagenera denounces infrastructure delays in Marchamalo and La Isleta

The MC Cartagenera municipal group has denounced the continued lack of execution regarding promised infrastructure improvements in the Marchamalo and La Isleta areas. Local representatives Jesús Giménez and Juan José López Escolar visited the sites to highlight ongoing deterioration and safety concerns.

According to the political group, a 2018 announcement under the ‘La Manga 365’ project included a 200,000 euro investment to improve the Gola de Marchamalo, including a viewpoint and the removal of hazardous elements. Eight years later, these transformations have not materialized. Additionally, the La Isleta bridge remains in a state of severe decay. Although the City Council announced a complete replacement in August 2025 with an investment of 537,615 euros, the works remain pending. MC officials criticized the local government's management, stating that the delay risks the loss of public funds and maintains unsafe conditions for residents and users.
