Dorsten receives 1.34 million euros for urban renewal projects
The city of Dorsten has been awarded 1.34 million euros for urban renewal projects in the Rhade district. The funds, provided by the Münster District Government, will support several infrastructure improvements, including the modernization of the Am Dahlenkamp sports and skate facility, the creation of new green spaces at Urbanusring and Kirchplatz, and various street renovations to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
In Werne, political tension is rising regarding the future of the Anne-Frank-Gymnasium. The FDP faction has criticized the local administration for its handling of the decision between renovating or rebuilding the school. The party claims that the administration commissioned economic calculations and school development planning in the wrong order, leading to wasted time and resources. Currently, several classes are being taught in temporary containers due to space shortages.
