MC Yaa Yeboah demands resignation of presidential staffer Rex Omar

Media personality MC Yaa Yeboah has called for the removal or resignation of Rex Omar, a presidential staffer for the Black Star Experience, following controversial remarks regarding Ghana’s economic situation. During an appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz on September 26, 2026, Yeboah criticized Omar for suggesting that citizens facing food insecurity would not prioritize attending concerts or movies.

Yeboah argued that such comments are inappropriate for a presidential official tasked with promoting the creative and entertainment sectors, noting that they could undermine government efforts to communicate economic progress. She suggested that Omar should utilize public relations professionals to avoid further controversy.

The broadcast also featured a confrontation between Yeboah and Prophet Kumchacha. When Kumchacha attempted to interject during Yeboah’s critique of Omar, she dismissed his input, stating he lacked knowledge of the creative arts industry. This led to a tense standoff in which Kumchacha warned Yeboah against her tone, citing his long-standing tenure as a media pundit.
